Events

SFMHS offers a number of monthly programs presented by acclaimed San Francisco and California historians, as well as special events throughout the year celebrating the culture of our famous city.

Monthly Programs
Our monthly programs cover a variety of topics of historic interest, and in 2010, we will continue our focus on the history and culture of San Francisco's famous neighborhoods. Speakers include authors and historians, often accompanied by slide presentations. These monthly lectures are open to the public and held on the second Tuesday of the month. Programs are free to SFMHS and $5 for non-members, which may be applied toward membership.

Walking Tours
SFMHS sponsors architectural and history walking tours of San Francisco's districts and neighborhoods, as well as providing guided tours of the Barbary Coast Trail¨. Walking tours are free and open to the public, unless otherwise noted.

Members-only Tours of the Old Mint
Approximately once a month, SFMHS members have the unique opportunity to get a look inside the Old Mint. The upcoming schedule is here.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

for Special Events and Tours

For events and tours requiring advance payment, only cancellations received at least five (5) business days prior to the event receive a full refund. Cancellations received with less than five (5) business days notice may be credited towards future SFMHS events (within six months).

NO refunds are made for no-shows or early departures.

Tour cancellation due to inclement weather is at the discretion of the tour leader, on the day of the event.
