Back by popular demand! Join Treasure Island Museum board member and historian Anne Schnoebelen for an insider’s tour of Treasure Island’s hisotric district, featuring moderne buildings (George Kelham and Will P. Day) listed on the National Register. Although redevelopment into San Francisco’s “newest neighborhood” is just around the corner, the island reflects an extraordinary history: landfill, airport, internatonal exposition, Navy base, and now a community in transition. Easy walking, no hills. Possibility of a visit to the glass-walled tower on the fourth floor of Building One, reached by stairs. Optional: If you would like to join the group for lunch at the Job Corps Fine Dining Room, you need to RSVP with SFHS by November 4. Cost of lunch: $13 plus tip.
