SFHS/CITY GUIDES TOUR

Guide: Carolyn Raisner

Celebrate 150 Years of Golden Gate Park!

At the western edge of Golden Gate Park, within sight of the Pacific Ocean, the towering Dutch Windmill welcomes walkers. On this tour you’ll learn about the
Life Saving Station, Leland Stanford’s Park and Ocean train line, Carville-by-the-Sea, and more. You will also learn about the struggles of park superintendents William Hammond Hall and John McLaren to transform shifting sands of the Outside Lands into a verdant landscape.

SFHS is pleased to present this walk in association with City Guides. Reservations are required, and the cost is $15 per person. Click here to buy ticket. Make your reservations by calling (415) 537-1105, ext. 0, or sending an email to rsvp@sfhistory.org. When you register, we will give you the meeting place. Please be considerate of your fellow guests and leave pets and young children at home.
