About The Event

City Lab for Kids is a fun and interactive learning center full of play-based activities to entertain families and engage visitors of all ages. Come learn about Native American culture, Spanish colonization, the Mexican period, early Yerba Buena and the Gold Rush – which led to San Francisco’s emergence as “an instant city.”

Made in partnership with local nonprofit Place It! and community-owned businesses, exhibits are designed to foster critical thinking about historical accounts and to promote hands-on exploration of how San Francisco grew into the city it is today.

City Lab for Kids is made possible by the support of our community partners and funders.
