The San Francisco Historical Society and the Museum of San Francisco are proud to provide the public with a plethora of exciting events, including: live broadcast and in-person shows about San Francisco’s rich history, rotating exhibits along with opening celebrations, walking tours that focus on the city's diverse history, and so much more!

Important Announcement

The newly renovated Museum of San Francisco is now open! Also, due to the summer travel season, there is no History Live! show for the month of August. Shows will resume in September.

History Live!

The San Francisco Historical Society’s popular monthly presentation series, known as History Live!, is a series of events which are professionally broadcasted live from our museum in the heart of San Francisco’s financial district, and include a live in-person audience, as well. Every broadcast has hundreds of people who register from all over the United States.

    Known for being a very elegant affair, the awards luncheon takes place at the Mark Hopkins Hotel. Last year more than 300 people attended. This is also the largest fundraiser of the year for the San Francisco Historical Society. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities coming soon.
