Bringing San Francisco History to Life!
The San Francisco Historical Society publishes the members exclusive journal, Panorama, every quarter. The Argonaut, distributed to libraries nation-wide, is an in-depth semiannual publication which dives into the fascinating (often unknown) history of San Francisco. Our organization also stocks numerous important books on the history of San Francisco, which can be purchased on our website or received when signing up for certain membership levels.
Every month we produce a widely popular monthly program, History Live!, which is broadcast from the Museum of San Francisco to thousands of people across the nation. Each broadcast is turned into a final film that is archived on our website and on YouTube. Due to our generous donors, attending the in-person and live streaming event is free to the public.
We also strive to spread San Francisco’s history to all generations by embracing an active social media presence on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and other popular mediums. Our dedicated staff also produces a monthly and weekly e-newsletters for over 6,000 subscribers.
